Believe.Envisage.Create

Sometimes things just don't seem right, nothing seems to work out, every plan every dream seems unattainable.
All of us have seen such a phase in life. Haven't we? If you haven't then you can  probably count yourself among the 'lucky' one's who are yet untouched from the pathos of life (: Well, fortunately or unfortunately I've been susceptible to it. 'Fortunate' because I've got such immense learning's that make me a better and a stronger person today and 'Unfortunate' because no one likes to loose, to let go of there dream or to suffer from hard times. It isn't a pleasant feeling.
And so we often avoid situations that put us in a conundrum, leading us to paths with unknown destinations or more aptly unattainable destinations. But 'dreams' come to those who 'dare to dream'. 'Sky is the limit' is often an overused 'quote', but what does that actually relate to? I perceive it (sky) as not something which is far from my reach, but something that I will be able to reach someday for sure because if it is 'defined' as the limit, then probably someone would have witnessed it, so even I can. I know it might sound totally dichotomous and overtaxing to some of you, but I guess we are 'socialized' to be this way from the very childhood. At least every kid belonging to a 'Punjabi' household would know exactly what I mean ;) "Beta IAS ki tyaari shuru kr de" "Beta IIT ki coaching 12th se hi shuru kr dena tabhi PEC me milega kahin admission" and "Agar Mr.Gupta ke bete ne kar liya toh tu bhe kar hi lega"
I am sure this verbatim is not unfamiliar to many of us. We are brought up in a such a manner that we seek what we are told to, so what I perceived from the above quote wasn't overtaxing myself, but 'this' surely was! Things are only not done, made, created, build or attained because 'we' haven't worked bad enough for it and not because they couldn't really be figured out.
There is a principle upon which we 'humans' work, which psychologists attribute to as the 'pleasure principle', which means that we are just driven towards pleasure and avoid pain. No one wants pain, but as it is rightly said but often 'unheard' that there is no gain without any pain. Not that it is important to drench yourself in pain so as to attain what you want to, but that in this era of such growing competition one can't expect an easy prey. One really can't. Everybody want's it bad today, its just about the fact that if you want it 'bad-er' ;)
I was once sitting in a conference hearing to a lecture by a resource person in a 'B-school' (feeling a little out of place since I wasn't used to such a professional atmosphere but still trying to fit in) where strikingly he told a very hard hitting story of a guy who desired to go to 'IIM Ahmedabad' someday and took coaching from him for the same. One day came and he entered IIM, he found himself the happiest person on the planet that day. Alas, those golden years passed away and he attained his degree from 'IIM', came placements and he found a very weird thing that he narrated to his 'sir' while he returned, over a  cup of coffee. He told him, "sir see I am finally an "IIM Ahmedabad-ian' (so to say) and his sir said 'yes I know and I am very happy about it'. But he said 'no sir you are not getting it I am 'just' an "IIM Ahmedabad-ian". So his sir replied,"Yeah, I understand but I dint really  get you?". So he answered,"sir something very weird happened today, while I was sitting at placements I was so excited that finally I had attained the degree that I longed for,but guess what when I went in I realized 100 other people were the same and I was no different, there was 'then' nothing special about me, I just felt as a clone of those 100 and nothing else, I had nothing more to me but just that 'degree'. And his sir was dumbstruck, he just had nothing to say to him. Well I was very moved from this incident,I am sure it strikes a bell in your head too, because all of us spend our life's doing what everybody does, getting those so called 'affiliations' that help us earn good bucks, not realizing what we've missed upon. To unfold your own potential. Yes. And the day you are able to do this, to find your passion, to unfold your zeal it is then that those 'skies' will not be far :)
